SIAM-Simons Undergraduate Summer Research Program This program establishes five sites across the U.S. for a program of research and learning in applied mathematics and computational science. One faculty mentor and two students at each site will work together as participants learn how to conduct scientific research, effectively communicate mathematics and computational science principles, and gain an improved understanding of how they can pursue a career in applied mathematics and computational science. SIAM Postdoctoral Support Program This program provides up to $15,000 in financial support for postdoctoral researchers to work with a mentor from a different institution. The goal is to foster direct research experience and professional development. Up to four postdoc/mentor pairs will be selected annually. Learn more here. The application remains open until annual funding is expended.
SIAM Support for Teaching Math Modeling (SIAM STeMM) Grant Program This program provides support for secondary teachers to inspire their students by incorporating real-world applications of mathematics into their classes or extracurricular activities. Grants of $750 will be awarded for development and/or implementation of a mathematical modeling activity in the classroom or for an extracurricular program. Awardees will share their lesson materials along with a reflection on the activity with SIAM. Learn more here. The application deadline is April 9, 2025.
